Thanks Brooke!

Connor loves his new blanket! Thanks Brooke!

Today Brady and Connor both had doctor appointments. Brady weighs 26 pounds now. He is in the 50%tile so I think he is starting to fatten up. Connor weighs 7pds 9oz. The Doctor was really happy about that! He is gaining weight really fast. It feels good to have two healthy boys!

my sweet baby

Connor is 5 days old now. He is such a good baby! I am just absolutely obsessed with this boy. Connor is doing really well with eating. Brady refused to breast feed so I am really excited about how much Connor loves to. The only problem is that he has to be eating anytime he is awake. I have had to use a binki a couple times so I can have a break. He is gaining weight so that's good! We have a Dr. appt today so we will see how much he has gained.
My parents and Joe's parents came up to see the baby and to help out with Brady. Joe and I are so lucky to have loving parents who care so much about us and our kids. So thank you parents and Ashley for all of your help!

Brady and Connor

Brady woke up this morning and immediately wanted to see his baby brother. We finally let him hold Connor and he was so cute! He just wants to give him loves and kisses!

I am doing well. When Connor is awake he HAS to be eating. I have a feeling he will be a porker! Joe and I are so happy to be home with our two perfect boys!

Connor, Day 3

So we came home today. Both Connor and mom are doing great. We are all very tired but doing great, although I don't know why I'm tired. I slept way too much these past few days. I slept to the point where Mandy was getting mad at me. I don't even know why I'm wasting my time typing because I know everybody is only here for one reason, pictures, and why would you waste your time reading what I have to say. It's not important. So here they are...

Connor Axel Johnson

What an exciting time for all of us. Mandy gave birth last yesterday to our beautiful new son, Connor Axel Johnson. Ashley was nice enough last night to put up a quick post with a picture and his stats, but I'm sure everyone wants to hear the story, so here it is. On Tuesday Mandy was complaining about really bad pains shooting down her legs, so she called the doctor and changed her appointment from Wednesday to that day. We went in and the doctor told us that nothing had changed, and that the pains were normal. Basically just to tough it out. She was still somewhere between a 2 and a 3, which was where she was for the last week or so. We were not that happiest people after hearing that but we went home Mandy rested for the better part of the day. Wednesday, I came home for lunch around 11 and she was having contractions, which we started to get used to. I went back to work, of course I was checking my phone about every 5 seconds to see if anything happened. Around 2 Mandy called me and told me the contractions were really painful, and that it was time. Well, apparently it wasn't. There was still no change in her cervix, and they just weren't ready to admit her. Well at this point I was about ready to take a gun to the head of the nurses. We were really frustrated. They wouldn't even give her Morphine to help with the pain. Fast forward to about 12:30 that night. Mandy was downstairs, I was upstairs sleeping. She called me and told me that the contractions were even worse than before. We waited about an hour from then just to be safe, but they were only getting worse. We headed in, by this point were just knew in advance that we weren't getting admitted. We were finally broken. We honestly thought that Mandy would stay pregnant forever. I can't find a link to it, so sorry, but for those of you who have seen it, we thought that Mandy would have a birthing experience like the SNL skit where a 37 year old Will Ferrell would come out of the womb. Anyway, we got to the hospital and of course Mandy's cervix still hadn't changed. We walked around for about 45 mins, during this time Mandy was almost falling to the floor in pain due to very frequent contractions. After the walking, Mandy got checked again and her cervix finally started to get bigger. It was almost up to a 4. So at about 3 or 4 Thursday morning Mandy was admitted and the birthing experience finally started. She ended getting an epidural at around 6. She was fully dilated by about 11:30 or so. They had her start pushing about a half hour later. She wasn't making a ton of progress, so they had her stop for about 10 or 15 minutes and when she did start pushing again they also were using a vacuum to help get him out. At 12:40 our little dude came out. We were both so happy this day had finally come. Connor and Mom are both doing really well. All Connor wants to do is eat. Mandy fed him no joke for 2 hours after he was born and the little guy was acting like he was hungry still. Brady took after his mom and doesn't really like to eat, but this guy is a chip off his old mans block. I have a feeling he is going to be a portly little guy. Enough of my babbling, here are some pictures.

I am not doing so well

Went to the hospital today because my Dr. told me to. Had strong contractions and they had a great pattern going. Cervix never changed. I am very upset and I'm sick of being in pain.

can't sleep!

It is 11:3op.m. I am having a ton of contractions but I am in denial that anything is happening. I went to the Dr. today and she "swept my membranes", by the way that was the most painful thing I have ever been through. I actually fainted in the Dr. office. Anyways, she told me I am 3cm dilated. She said things should be happening in 12-24 hours. So who knows..I am in pain now and I guess that is a good sign! Lets see if tonight will be the night!

I am not a happy camper...

I am going crazy. I am SO sick of being pregnant. I have sharp pains and I swear the baby is 11 pounds. I had Brady by this time my last pregnancy. I really need to get this baby out! Hopefully tonight something will happen! Here is a 39week belly pic..

I really miss Brady. He is with my parents and Joe's parents this weekend. Aunt Ashley is in town so she will get to play with him too. They will be here on Friday. I will take the opportunity to clean and sleep as much as I can before the baby comes!

not so fun trip to the hospital

Last night I was having contractions every 2-4 minutes for 5 hours. Joe and I decided to go to the hospital around 1:30a.m. She checked me and I was 2 cm and 60%. I walked around for an hour and I was still 2cm but I was way more effaced (she didn't tell me what I was at). I got excited that at least something was changing and I was hoping to be admitted. She told me that she can feel the amniotic sac "bulging" and that it is really close to breaking. I wad told to go home and take Tylenol (Lame..I wanted some drugs to get rid of the pain! haha). She also said "I wouldn't last through the weekend" meaning she gives me two days at the most. Who knows..I have been walking so much I am starting to give up! My mom came over for the weekend to help, thank goodness because Brady got sick and he needed a lot of attention. We really couldn't of made it with out her! They took Brady with them tonight to stay with them and Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. They will be switching him back and forth. We are so thankful for our parents!

Beth's Bridal Shower

Here is my 37 week picture. I had Brady around 38 weeks..The Dr. checked me and I am almost dilated to a two. She thinks I have a week or a week and a half! I can't wait to meet my baby boy!
Today I threw a bridal shower for my friend Bethany. It was fun!
I look really excited haha. My feet were numb..

Tonight my dad, mom, Joe, me, Brady, Beth, Lauren (another friend), and Laurens dad will be celebrating Lauren's and my Dad's birthday at Red Lobster. I have a huge baby inside me so I wont have any room to really eat (maybe a couple cheese rolls hehe). It should be fun!

Thank you Navy and Gerber!

Tonight I attended a Budget for Baby class put on by The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. This is such a great program, Its a program that offers classes for budgeting for life, Free or close to free thrift shop, Interest free loans for cars and homes, Emergency financial aid, Education tuition assistance, food lockers, and Layettes for the family. One of my favorite benefits of this program is the visiting nurse program. They come to your house if you would like them to help with anything with pregnancy and after you give birth. I have been seeing a maternity nurse once a month this pregnancy. She comes to my house and help with anything I need. She tells me were to find free cribs, car seats, and clothes. I guess there are some advantages of being a military wife!I was excited to go to this class because I knew I would be getting some free baby stuff!
From GERBER:(gerber is a big supporter of the military so they like to give free stuff away)
5 pack onesies
two knit crib sheets
2 piece bath set hooded towel and washcloth
3 pack burp cloths
thermal receiving blanket
2 pack bibs
2 pack booties set
3 pack sleep'n plays
I also got a homemade blue blanket
and on the way out the instructor told us to look in the thrift store and take whatever we want (anything in the entire store!) so I grabbed a yellow blanket. Joe was already late to work so I couldn't look around GRR!
